CYC J80 Match Racing Congratulations to the CYC sponsored J80 team who performed superbly in the recent PPSA Match Racing Event, reaching the final 4 - an outstanding performance given the amount of learning on the spot that was necessary. Commenting on the performance team member Colin Plumb said:"I have to take full responsibility for wanting to take this opportunity when it was first mentioned towards the end of last year. At the time I thought it would just be a bit of fun and a great learning experience. I never in my wildest dreams thought we would get so far, take it so seriously and want to win so much. Neither did I realise how physically demanding this sport is.I am so proud of what we achieved but this does not dull the immense feeling of disappointment that we were unable to retain our form on the last day to get on the podium.I will finish by going back to one of the original emails regarding this apparent folly in November of last year which stated “I suspect we have neither the skills or interest amongst our Members to enter a J-80 match racing team, but I would be delighted to be proved wrong!” Well we found the interest, acquired the skills and entered not only a viable but a very competitive team.
