Interior Refurbishment
The 'Ambiance' Sub-Committee Make their Recommendations
In the spring (2011), the committee set up a group to look at ways to
make the interior of our club more attractive and practical. The
self-styled 'Ambiance' sub-committee have the following proposals:
The Bar: This is a priority and their recommendation is to remove the
partition and doorway between the bar and the meeting room on the first
floor to open out the whole area which will give a less cramped "feel"
for bar users. The views and balcony afforded by the meeting room are
much better than in the bar and will draw customers in, particularly
at busy times. Roger Hume and Glenn Honey have established that there
are no structural or fire issues with the proposal and the work should
be inexpensive.
Lighting: The existing strip lights are harsh and unattractive.
Improvements to lighting, together with a new colour scheme are under
preparation for submission to the committee.
It
is also planned to redecorate the entrance hall and stairwell. Work is
planned to start soon and will be completed during next year.
